Bruce Lukaszewicz (BELphotos) > This is a replica of the "New Yorker" style helmet in use by the FDNY It commemorates the terrorist attack of September 11, 2001 in which 343 of our brothers were lost. It is on display in front of the Barstow Fire Protection District headquarters / station in Barstow, California. Thank you Barstow FD.
Bruce Lukaszewicz (BELphotos) > This is your normal, run-of-the-mill street electric box commonly in use today across the country. In San Diego, SDGE (San Diego Gas and Electric) does not object if community members decorate or paint them in such a fashion as to make them blend in with their surroundings. This particular box is located on the front lawn of SDFD Station 15 in Ocean Beach. I have attempted to identify the artist, but as is common in OB, the artist prefers to remain anonymous. Station 15 is located at the corner of Voltaire and Ebers Streets. It has recently been given a cosmetic face-lift by community members appreciative of the dedication of members that man the station.
Bruce Lukaszewicz (BELphotos) > Old Point Loma Lighthouse (Pre NPS makeover) - The National Park Service recently added fencing and another out building to this site. In doing so they have effectively made the site less than desirable to photograph. This photograph is of the rear of the building that faces the Pacific Ocean. The front of the building faces Coronado and North Island. This photograph was taken in October 2002 is before the alterations.
