Bruce Lukaszewicz (BELphotos) > USS Constellation (CV64) - At 10:40 hours on November 2, 2002, the aircraft carrier USS Constellation slowly and proudly leaves San Diego Harbor for her final deployment before decommissioning. She was the second ship in the Kitty Hawk Class of ships and the third ship in the US Navy to bear the name Constellation. Nicknamed 'America’s Flagship', she was decommissioned on August 7, 2003, after 41 years, nine months and 11 days of naval service. She will be moth-balled in the Pacific Northwest.

Bruce Lukaszewicz (BELphotos) > "A PEACE OF OCEAN BEACH" -- This stained glass peace sign was perched on this rock for eighteen months before it was taken down by thieves. The giant rock sits about seventy-five yards from the shore on Sunset Cliffs Boulevard in Ocean Beach, San Diego.

This photo was taken in June 2007. I remembered that I made this photo about six weeks after it was placed. I was reminded of the photo when I read that the artists, who still remain anonymous, created another piece and it has been set atop the Ocean Beach International Hostel. The artists, who call themselves the Peace Rockers, prefer the anonymity.

The peace sign was not the only object the artists have placed upon the rock. For more information go to: http://www.PeaceRocks.info
