Bruce Lukaszewicz (BELphotos) > I went out to Starbuck's one morning and spent a few hours out of the house. When I returned, I found the cat stretched out on the couch watching the US Open with a Coors. I was PO'ed, he left the fridge open and took the last one. It was 110° in the shade that day.

Bruce Lukaszewicz (BELphotos) > In October 2002, the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department held it's annual Operation Hi-Rise training drill with lots of paparazzi in attendance.

This young woman, her name is Courtney, was sitting all alone off to the side of the media frenzy; so I wandered over and asked if I could take her photo. She graciously obliged.

She said she was an intern with NBC 7/39 in SD and was told to "sit and wait here", I suppose by a producer. She also just finished up at San Diego State University and was trying get her career going.

I don't know where she wound up, but I can tell you one thing. Whoever she went to work for has to be very happy. Not only is she very pretty, but a genuine pleasure to sit and chat with. I'm sure she is doing well as a correspondent somewhere.

UPDATE: I recently discovered that the Courtney shown in this photo is the now famous Courtney Friel, currently the entertainment reporter for FOX Cable News Channel.
